Burning fossil fuels releases significant quantities of carbon dioxide, aggravating climate change. Although it gets less attention these days, combustion also emits volumes of pollutants, which can cause a variety of illnesses (Fischetti , Mark. "The Health Care Burden of Fossil Fuels." Scientific American. N.p., 31 Aug. 2011. Web.). These pollutants are often referred to as Particulate Matter and can come from a variety of sources including construction and combustion activities. The impact on our environment and health are notable.
Take a look at a short video created by James Leach on the dangers of these air pollution contributors.
